Q: If my reminder is set as an annual event, does this mean that I only have to add it one time?
A: Yes. If you specify your reminder as an annual event, you will receive an email reminder every year until the reminder is deleted. For example, if you set an annual reminder, beginning in the year "2006", to be notified one week prior to your niece's birthday, you will automatically receive an email reminder seven days before her birthday in subsequent years without having to add additional reminders. Please be sure that the date on your computer is current.
Q:
I have added reminders in mycardmaker, but I was not notified as expected. Was I supposed to receive an email notification?
A: Yes, you were. There are several reasons why you did not receive your reminder.:
- Check that you entered your email address correctly when you signed up. To do so, click the "account" button at the top of the page or the "account" tab in "my account manager". Check the email address in the "Your Email Address" field. If it is incorrect, enter the correct address and click the "update" button.
- Make sure that the month, day and year of the reminder is accurately set. For example, if the current year is "2005" and you set the date of the event in "2004", the reminder would not be sent because the event date is already in the past. To check reminder settings, click the "reminders" button at the top of the page or the "reminders" tab in "my account manager".
- Double-check the "remind me..." setting to see how many days prior to your event you wanted to be reminded. If "remind me..." is set to notify you one week prior to the event but you thought you'd set it to two weeks prior, then this may be the reason why you have not yet received an expected notification.
If the settings are as expected, and you still did not receive and alert, please let us know. There could be a problem on our end.
Q: How do I delete a reminder?
A: Make sure that you are signed in to mycardmaker. Click the "reminders" button at the top of the page or the "reminders" tab in "my account manager". Find the reminder that you want to delete and click its "delete" button. In the pop-up box, click the "ok" button.
Q: Can mycardmaker remind me ahead of time about important events?
A: Yes. You can add annual or one-time reminders that automatically generate an email notification of upcoming events. To add and manage reminders in mycardmaker, you must first beome a member and be signed into the site. Then, click the "reminders" button at the top of the page or the "reminders" tab in "my account manager" and add your reminders.
